A Note from Miss Wiggins
We had a magnificent time during Grandparents’ Day. The children thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with their very important guests. Please thank your parents for coming to St. Peter’s Friday. A wonderful time was had by all!
We will be collecting funds for the victims of Hurricane Florence for two more weeks. The last day to send in money will be Friday, October the 19th. The fundraiser was started due to our Kindness Unit in reading. It will also tie in with our next unit – The Weather.
With that in mind, let us all continue to pray for the victims of the many natural disasters this year.
Counting my blessings,
In Class this Week:
Reading – Theme: What’s the Weather? – Please explore the theme with your child by looking for articles and pictures addressing the weather. Send any items you find into class with your child. We will add them to our Concept/Question board.
Parents, please continue to predict, clarify, and make connections while reading. We are also starting to identify the beginning, middle, and end of each story.
Math – We are still exploring numbers 1-10. I suggest making a number line with 1-10. Start asking your child, “What is two more than five? What is three less than ten?” These questions will give them a deeper understanding of the numbers.
Science/S.S. – Unit: Our bodies. The students will explore different parts of their bodies.
Religion – devotions; Moses and the Ten Commandments
