Saint Peter’s Catholic School, an integral ministry of a dynamic, urban, multi-cultural and historic Catholic parish located in downtown Columbia, is seeking to fill the following positions:

Assistant Principal

Candidate will work with teachers, Guidance Counselor, Principal and parents in all matters affecting student achievement in grades K4 through 6. Additionally, candidate will assist the principal in areas of administration and provide requisite leadership in the Principal’s absence, as necessary.

Candidate should be proficient in Differentiated Instruction and inclusion; competent with assessment analysis, curriculum development, and child development. The candidate should have strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal skills and mastery of technology.

Saint Peter’s Catholic School seeks a candidate whose interactions as an Assistant Principal will be reflective of his/her Catholic faith and will fully promote the mission and values of Saint Peter’s School.

Minimum requirements: MS/MA in Education desired or BS/BA in Education with at least 5 years teaching experience; experience in Administration preferred, SC Certification. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Fourth Grade Teacher

Requirements: BA in Elementary Education; strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriate knowledge of child development and classroom management; proficient with instructional technology. A valid SC teaching certification is required; an applicant who does not have this credential will be required to obtain one within the time period prescribed by the Diocese of Charleston.

Kindergarten Teacher Assistant

Requirements: experience with and an understanding of early childhood pedagogy. A degree in Early Childhood preferred.

Director of Development

Major responsibilities include organizing and executing electronic and print communications, coordinating and executing major fundraising efforts, developing and instituting strategies to increase new student recruitment, and financial aid administration.  Requires strong writing skills, interpersonal skills and leadership ability. Includes supervision of volunteers and interns. Experience in fundraising, development or public relations preferred.
