A Note from Miss Geene

This week will be a busy week! We have our Pet Blessing at 2:30pm on the soccer field on Wednesday, October 11th. On Friday, October 13th, we have our Living Rosary at 9:30am. I hope many of you will be able to join us in blessing each pet and celebrating Our Lady of the Rosary.

Please remember to check the list for your child’s week to be our Snack Shack managers. This week our Snack Shack managers are Annelisa Fitz and Carter Schrenker. Snacks and the receipts must be brought in on Tuesday, October 10th. Thank you for supporting the sixth grade in their business endeavor.

Below is a list of the students who are on Honor Guard this week. If your student is participating, they must stay until the end. Please do not pick them up during car line unless I have been given a note. Thank you for your support!

This Week in Class

4th Grade Math:  We will begin discussing multiplication of two to four digit numbers by one digit numbers. Students can use the review games and math videos below to practice math skills by playing fun math games and watching short lessons on math skills.

5th Grade Math: We will be discussing multiplication and division of whole numbers and decimals. Students can use the review games and math videos above to practice math skills by playing fun math games and watching short lessons on math skills.

6th Grade Reading:   This week the students will be focusing on expository writing to complete their in class The City of Ember final project. The projects will be presented in class on Friday, October 13th.

We will start our next novel, The Shakespeare Stealer by Gary Blackwood on Monday, October 16th. Please make sure to purchase or borrow the novel by this date.



The Spelling and Vocabulary test will be given on Friday, October 13th. The words are listed in the document below.


6th Grade Religion: We will have our first Religion Test on Unit 1 on Thursday, October 12th. The students can use their notes, the Bible, and the textbook to study. Then, we will begin discussing Saint John Neumann.

6th Grade Science: We will continue discussing the types of plate tectonic boundaries and their effects on earth’s surface. We will discuss volcanoes and island formation. Students can use the videos attached below to help them study.

6th Math: We will discuss prime and composite numbers and prime factorization.
