A Note from Mrs. Grant
This week is another short week as the student’s do not have school on Monday, February 3, 2020. I know the sixth graders will be happy to have our normal schedule back for this week.
Please remember to check the list for your child’s week to be our Snack Shack managers. This week our Snack Shack managers are Connor and Zion. Snacks and the receipts must be brought in on Monday. Receipts for reimbursement can be brought to Mrs. Davis in the office with a note detailing it is for Snack Shack. Thank you for your support!
Below is a list of the students who are on Honor Guard this week. If your student is participating, they must stay until the end. Please do not pick them up during car line unless I have been given a note. Thank you for your support!
This Week in Class
Math: We will discuss measurement in length and classifying quadrilaterals. The next Math test will be given on Tuesday, February 11th. Please remember to use the study guide given to the students in class to review and their textbook. Students can also use the review games and math videos below to practice math skills by playing fun math games and watching short lessons on math skills.
Science: We will continue our unit on human body systems. We will continue discussing the respiratory system. Then, we will begin discussing the circulatory system.
Math: We will discuss dividing by a decimal and a fraction. The next Math test will be given on Friday, February 7th.
Science: We will finish our animal research paper. Please look over the rubrics, directions, and due dates with your student. Time will be given to complete this in class. If the student needs extra time, they will be asked to finish for homework. The final draft is due on Thursday, February 6th.
Social Studies: We will be discussing the city states of Athens and Sparta and debating their societies and we will discuss the Persian war.
Religion: We will discuss how God saved the Israelites through the bronze serpent. We will reflect on the power of Jesus’ Death to reconcile all people to his Father. We will discuss how the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation as a means to aid growth in virtue. The Chapter 14 quiz will be given on Thursday, February 13th.
Spelling and Vocabulary: There will be no Spelling and Vocabulary words until they finish their vocabulary study with Miss Boron.
