In class this week…

Religion: In religion this week, the class will discuss the Apostles and how they were fishers of men.

Reading: The students will begin our new novel study!  The class will be reading “Little House on the Prairie” the next month.  We will be completing a lapbook along with this novel as well.  Along with the lapbook, there will be special activities each Friday to accompany what we are reading.

Language Arts: The class will begin pronouns this week.  Our spelling list will be words and definitions from our novel and this will be a two week list, so the test will not be until Friday, February 7th.  STAR homework will be due this week.

Math:  This week in math, we will continue the multiplication of our 4, 5, & 6 facts.  I recommend purchasing a set of flash cards to keep in backpacks and to study each night. The Dollar Tree has perfectly acceptable ones.  Please be studying these flashcards nightly.

Science: We have finished weather and will begin our unit on living things.  We will take a closer look as to what makes up a living thing.

Social Studies:  The class will finish our South Carolina regions this week! Each student will be creating a study guide for the regions as we go along.
