Happy New Year! I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful Christmas break! I am looking forward to starting January off right! We have many exciting educational opportunities ahead. Please be sure to check the Science section this week. You will also be receiving a related correspondence in this week’s Tuesday folder,

This Week In Class

Reading: This week the students will read Whale Of A Lesson. We will be working on biographies and author’s purpose.

Spelling/Vocabulary: :  The spelling words this week are own, most, soap, float, both, know, loan, goat, flow, loaf, throw, and coach. The test will be on Friday.

Social Studies: Students will learn about consumers and producers in their community. We will discover how goods and services are provided and used.

Science: Students will continue to learn about Weather. Each day we will have a Second Grade Meteorologist. Each student will take a turn giving the forecast. Your child will be assigned a date and you will receive that in a correspondence in this week’s newsletter.

Math: Students will be wrapping up regrouping addition with two and three digit problems. We will also work on story problems. Please continue to practice math facts up to twenty.

Religion: This week students will learn about St. Ignatius. We will also continue to learn about Reconciliation.
