K-5 Newsletter: Week 8
It was wonderful to celebrate the Pet Blessing with everyone last week! We had such fun blessing our many animal friends and celebrating with all of our friends and family. This week we have even more exciting events planned, which includes our Grandparents Day this Friday!
This week in ELA, we will be continuing to focus on long “I” vowels and introducing short “I” vowels. Students will also continue to practice with their six new sight words for the week and discuss the stories we read in class. In Math, we will be wrapping up our lessons on 2-D and 3-D shapes. On Thursday, students will have an assessment on their knowledge of 3-D shapes. In Science, we will be beginning our lessons on the seasons! Our first season we will begin focusing on is winter, including the weather patterns and seasonal attire of this time of year. In Social Studies, we will be learning how the church teaches us to be good citizens.
We will be having the Book Fair throughout the week. If you have any specific questions regarding this event, please don’t hesitate to email me. Students will be given opportunities throughout the week to go and purchase books or toys. On Friday, we will be having a half-day and celebrate Grandparent’s Day. If a student will be going home with a grandparent, there must be written permission given to the front office before Friday. Dismissal on Friday will be at 11:30 am. We will just be having fun activities throughout this day, including having P.E. with our visitors. There will not be any lesson plans set for this day. If you have any questions, please email me.
Have a wonderful and blessed week,
