It was great seeing so many of our classmates at the parade on Saturday! What a great day of family fun and fellowship! Don’t forget Monday is a 2:00 dismissal.

In class this week…
Religion: In religion this week, the class will continue to discuss Lent and focus on our Lenten promises and how we are praying.
Reading: The class will continue our novel study of Calder, Petra and Tommy as well as the Robie House. The class has finished our comprehension questions are now working on writing a persuasive essay based on the rest of the book.
Language Arts: The students will test on verbs this week and begin the basics of how to write a persuasive essay. We will test on the spelling words Friday and STAR homework is due.
Math: We are working in math groups on various concepts such as fact families, writing division problems, and long division for some. Please continue to practice those multiplication facts! We will finish division this week and test on Thursday!
Science: We will begin an extensive unit on living things. This unit will continue throughout the rest of the year and we will look at life cycles, inherited and environmental traits, survival adaptations, habitats, and fossils. The class will continue work on the life cycle of various animals this week with a partner project!
Social Studies: The class will begin explorers this week! We will learn how Hernando deSoto and Juan Pardo were to spread Catholicism in the new world.
