This Week in Class

Religion

This week we will continue our study of the Rosary and Catholic social teaching. Students will study how Christ  showed his love for those around him, and how his love inspired the Catholic social teachings of solidarity and the option for the poor and vulnerable. How can we better serve our community?

 Literature

This week in literature we will wrap up our current focus on imagery. We will visit this again as the school year progresses. Right now students will work to enhance their writing using sensory details. Students will also work to develop their working knowledge of the writing process, especially the steps of editing, revision, and publishing. Students will then move on by reading various nonfiction passages and analyzing them for their text structures. Descriptive, compare and contrast, cause and effect, and other text structures will be covered.

Just a reminder! As we enter into the second quarter, our reading minutes have increased from 120 minutes per week to 140 minutes! Students must read over a minimum of four days. Reading Log #4 will be due on Friday, October 25, 2019.
