A Note From Mrs. Phillips
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! I know I enjoyed spending time with so many wonderful people on Friday. Grandparent/VIP Day was a huge success thanks to you! This is always one of my most favorite special days we have here at St. Peter’s because I love hearing all the beautiful and sometimes funny family stories. I love to see the smiles on everyone’s faces, but most of all, I love to see the families rally around those children who do not have a special visitor to spend time with them. This never ceases to amaze me. So thank you to all who came and spent a lovely morning in our classroom on Friday.
In class this week…
Religion: In religion this week, the class will discuss the Rosary and how we pray. We will practice by praying a decade each day.
Reading: The class will continue reading “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” this week! The class has really been enthralled with the book. I have several class copies we can share, but if you would like to provide a copy for your child, that is more welcome. Each student will have their own novel study packet which will include comprehension questions for each chapter as well as other reading strategy pages.
Language Arts: The students will test on subjects and predicates this week. We will have a new spelling list this week, but the test will be NEXT Friday. STAR homework will be due this Friday as usual.
Math: The class will begin subtraction strategies this week. We will practice with these strategies.
Science: In science the students will continue our weather unit. We will look more closely at weather tools and weather hazards.
Social Studies: The students will begin learning about the five South Carolina regions this week.
