The children have been working on “Following Directions” three to four step directions. They will continue to master these skills (Listen, Ask, Repeat and Get ready to follow the directions).
“God Made Me” We will be finishing Unit One “God Made Me” for our Religion studies. The lessons promote the children’s feelings of happiness and joy for their names, smile, hands, and voices – which are all gifts from God that help contribute toward their self-uniqueness and increase their awareness of themselves and God’s love for them.
“I Can Discover” The overall objective of this unit is to focus the children’s attention on one “SENSE” at a time. Thus, to help them appreciate how each sense is helpful to us. To do this, we will endeavor by example, experiment and discussion, to heighten their awareness of their senses and what role those senses play in each child’s daily activities; and to express their thankfulness to God for the gift of our 5 Senses (I Can See, I Can Touch, I Can Hear, I Can Smell, and I Can Taste).
Language: Letters – Pp —– Bb —— Rr —— Nn
They will continue to learn and recognize uppercase and lower case letters and their phonetic sounds. Please help them to memorize these sounds by using the flash cards that they will bring home every week. Play a game “Beginning Sounds” with your child to name things around them that begins with a certain letter sound that they are learning. This will also help your child increase their vocabulary words.
Let your child practice writing their first name and the letters that they are learning from school. We will be talking about “Opposites” and reciting and memorizing more Nursery Rhymes.

The children are progressing nicely in Mathematics with number recognition, counting accurately and writing numbers. Please encourage your child to practice writing numbers at home. Even if you think your child already knows numbers, it’s important that he/she sees the relationship between the “written number” and the “amount” being counted.
We will work more on the concepts of “Same and Different”. We will also introduce “Sorting and Classifying” by different attributes like colors, shapes and sizes.
The children enjoyed learning their Primary Colors RED, Yellow and Blue, with songs. Have them sing the Color Songs to you and review the colors with them. Next week we will begin with the secondary colors.
