Principal’s Letter

July, 2018

Dear Parents and Friends of St. Peter’s Catholic School,

I introduce myself to you this month with tremendous joy.  July marks the beginning of my journey as principal of St. Peter’s Catholic School.  I have been given the opportunity to work alongside Mrs. Kathy Preston during the month of June as we begin the transition into the 2018-2019 school year.  Mrs. Preston has shared a warmth and a vision for St. Peter’s School that is truly inspiring. I hope to foster her warmth and sense of community as we move forward with the development of St. Peter’s Catholic School.

This is a very exciting time for the St. Peter’s parish and community as we have recently been recognized as a Minor Basilica by the Vatican.  A church must offer historic value, the ability to host worthy and exemplary celebrations, and stand out as a center of active and pastoral liturgy to receive such an honored distinction.  In the excitement, I overheard someone describe St. Peter’s as having a “beautiful past and a glorious future.”  I believe that with this designation, we have been given a great responsibility and opportunity for growth and development, not only for our parish but also for our school.

During the 2018-2019 school year, I would also like to recognize our newly hired and re-positioned staff: Mrs. Tracie Wiggins, 5K; Ms. Alison Smith, 1st; Mrs. Ellie Russell, 2nd; Mrs. Shannon Ronald, 4th; Mr. Christopher Coller, 5th; and Mrs. Katie Labelle, academic interventionist.  Mrs. Preston and I are confident that we have developed a tremendously strong team of professionals who are going to direct our school towards our vision of academic excellence and moral upstanding.

I am grateful for the opportunity to support St. Peter’s Catholic School in this role and I look forward to getting to know each of you and your children.  I will be in the office this summer preparing for a smooth transition into the 2018-2019 academic year, so please stop by to say “hello.” Thank you for your trust, support, and warm welcome.

Sincerely in Christ,

Aubrey Herkert Wall
