Kindergarten 5 Newsletter
St. Peter’s Catholic School

The past week went by so quickly! It was such an exciting time to have all the students back at school. I am very pleased with how well behaved and hard working Kindergarten 5 is. In the first week, we got back into the routine of going to school. Students reviewed class and school rules, played with friends, and showed their current progress in writing, science, social studies and mathematics.
This week we will be working in all of our subject areas of religion, social studies, language and literacy, science, and mathematics. In language and literacy, students will be continuing to practice reading and identifying the number of sentences and words. They will also practice with blending letters that contain two consonants and one vowel. In social studies, students will be learning about the differences and similarities between individuals and families. In science, we will be discussing the different functions of parts of the body. In mathematics, we will be discussing shapes, both special and ordinary, as well as what makes them similar or different from each other.
This is our first full week of school. This week, on Wednesday morning, it will be our first Mass together with the entire school. Please have students come dressed in their Mass attire, such as jumpers for girls and ties for the boys. Next Monday (September 2nd) we will have no school for Labor Day.
I am looking forward to another great week with Kindergarten 5!
